He died... like we all will. No news there. But I recall one thing concerning him that sort of led the way.. the way intelligence is not really wanted by some.

Oh there are others.. they were all over the place ten years ago. Anyone who knew him (as only a 60min watcher could know him) knew these quotes were complete BS. Nevertheless a relative of questionable intellect sent me one of these stupidities and I wrote back. "Andy Rooney never said that... here... look at snopes.com and they will set it straight"
You know what reply I got back?. "Well if he didn't say it he should have as it is spot on right! I'll wager snopes has various views that just simply feed their needs.. I believe it was an accurate quote"
See? Do you SEE? the problem in this country is not the education of kids. Forget the teachers and the federal funds. The problem is we live in a world of people that "want" things to be true... who "wish" them to be true. There is no reasoning with them. Their perception of truth is what talk radio and the Sunday sermons tells them is true.
